Payne Road State School is very lucky to have such picturesque natural surroundings, as well as well-appointed and attractive classrooms and educational facilities. The school is set-back from the road, next to Fish Creek, and surrounded by Mount Coot-tha and the green leafy suburb of The Gap. The grounds and outdoor facilities include two adventure playground areas (one dedicated for the Early Childhood Precinct/Prep Area), netball courts, cricket practice nets, a tennis court, undercover eating and playing areas, an Environmental Garden area, a school oval, and extensive landscaped gardens.
Parking is available at the front of the school along Payne Road; and in Kernel Street. Please be mindful of the parking restrictions as sign-posted.
Classrooms and teaching areas include eleven teaching classrooms, Administration Building, a spacious staffroom, a Learning Resource Centre (library) with computerised borrowing facilities and internet access, a multi-award-winning tuckshop, computer lab, a brand-new start-of-the-art school hall, a multi-purpose activities building (Outside School Hours Care building), music room, community meeting room, and the Special Education Room (The Rainbow Room), which caters for children with special needs. We are also very privileged that all our classrooms have air-conditioning. Some of the school’s facilities are available for hire; please contact the PRSS P&C or the School for hiring details.
