Payne Road State School is in the Metropolitan Region and was opened in 1970. It has a current coeducational enrolment of approximately 280 students from Prep to Year 6. The school prides itself on being a small school with big results. Our school provides an engaging and challenging curriculum that aims to challenge every student to realise their potential. We are committed to excellent academic results. We also provide a host of extra-curricular activities from which students can choose.
Payne Road State School is set back from the road on picturesque grounds surrounded by Mount Coot-tha, Fish Creek and beautiful green leafy surrounds. We have a code of shared values which has been adapted from the National Safe Schools Framework and Program Achieve. The school has a Chaplaincy program which supports values education and adds another dimension of care to the school's supportive environment. Our local community is actively involved in the school and contributes to school planning, ceremonies, events and celebrations.
