Department of Education Queensland State School Strategy

Payne Road State School embraces the State School Strategy by implementing processes for supporting individual student needs, working with the community and parents to develop invididual plans for students and engaging in partnerships with external organisations that enhance our teaching and learning programs.

Student Support Services

Our Triple S team, comprising of the Support Teacher for Literacy and Numeracy (STLaN), Guidance Officer (GO), Special Education Program (SEP) Teacher, Head of Curriculum (HOC) and other visiting support staff when available, meet regularly with Classroom Teachers to discuss specific student needs. Students are identified by Teachers, support staff or parents who feel the child would benefit from different levels of support.  This support comes in three levels (tiers) depending on the needs of the child.

The team makes decisions about the type of support and plans for the programs to be embedded or staffed.  The process is revisited regularly and looks to support children of all different ability levels and/or social/emotional needs.
